The Christmas Project
"Not another seascape!" was the response from my kids to my last painting. So I asked them to suggest something completely different. "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" was what they decided they would like to see.
It was a delight to be mixing bright and cheerful colours and painting Christmas scenes in late November. The paintings turned out to be a kind of Christmas hide and seek, with the star of the painting (Robin, Santa, Reindeer etc) not always being immediately obvious - each one decorated with a dash of 24ct gold leaf.
The collection is growing weekly and will be exhibited locally in November and December 2009.
Prussia Cove Rock Project
Seven years we've lived here and never explored this
part of the Coastline! Prussia Cove in West Cornwall - minutes from
where we live. It is a treasure trove of beautiful beeches, rock
formations and colours. I'm glad I had my camera with me that day.
The Minis
I normally paint large, but it was suggested that some people may want to pop a small reminder of their holiday into their suitcase when they go home. It took some practice, but I'm now rather enjoying painting little local landscapes on 30cm x 30cm canvasses.
